Orientation day

Orientation is out of the way, history, done, etc. 8am-3:30pm ("working" lunch) we were in class rooms, and then 3:30pm-4:45pm-ish I worked on the ANGEL orientation which apparently I could have done before I came but wasn't aware I needed to do. I was rather disappointed due to features that didn't work in the demo, and spelling errors in the instruction manuals but I learned how to use it about 50+ 8 1/2 by 11 pages later.

The morning and early afternoon classroom orientation was broken in to break out sessions where you could learn different things in smaller groups. I took the campus tour, meet my adviser, the nurse, the counselor and a couple other program directors. I told my roommate that I'd most likely need counseling before the year is out, so I should meet the counselor. He didn't disagree, or try to suggest any other sessions so I guess he agreed. :)

I now have my new phone number (since AT&T doesn't cover here, and new phone!) and new mailing address for those who would like those. In case you're curious about the phone (as Brian and Brad may be) it's with Virgin Mobile. So far, the phone, a LG Optimus Elite, and service have been great, even working in many brick and concrete buildings. It's 3.5 inch screen which some reviewers reported as poor is actually quite nice and responsive and the 800mhz processor is more than enough power to surf the web, check Facebook, and read on YouVersion. While its not power house it gets the job of phone done, without making you sew new pockets that can support its weight. It weights just over 4 ounces and has a nice textured plastic back cover making it easy to hold and use and in general, just a pleasure. It seems to eat up battery fairly quickly with background data for calendar and Facebook and occasional texting (10-15/hr) eating up about 10% battery/hr.

Anyway, peace out everyone, I need to run to a church fair and find a church to attend here!
