I've made a few observations so far about college, and of course, here they are:
1) Don't eat the caf's corn...just don't.
2) Review before class, some teachers enjoy giving quizzes the second day of class (see above).
3) Don't make enemy's right away, you have all school year to do that.
4) Don't drink Monster, it just tastes awful. Seriously, who likes that stuff?
5) Don't break your door, that's an $1000 dollar fine. Thankfully, it's not personal experience that tells me that.
6) If you have a pet spider, feed him or he will die. Or maybe we just drowned him since he lived in the sink.
7) Carefully schedule your classes to optimize sleep patterns, i.e. no 8 o'clock classes!
8) Expect to forget stuff and pack money to deal with said forgotten item replacement purchases.
9) Read papers before you sign them. This is so very important, and it should be common sense, but I guess it's not as evidenced by your's truly.
10) And of course, always take a notebook to math class! Don't forget it...double check for it, whatever it takes. Just make sure you have one.
Today was good though, had my "hard day" (i.e. 11 of my 19 credit hours classes met today) but still alive and loaded down with homework. Tomorrow is my "easy" day so I'll need to visit Mr. Fry to see about my activities in the ACES program.
Now, for the people who don't read this just to hear my schedule, this is how to fail a quiz with a 0%. Just don't have a clue what she's talking about when she mentions the "Writing triangle". You can totally fail if that's the only question on the quiz. It was great, and I wasn't the only one, I saw at least one other person hand in a blank paper. Fun sauce...
Thankfully, that was in my Comp 1 class, my Comp 1 teacher seems to like my in class answers and my writing style so far so maybe I can find some extra credit to make up the quiz later on. The class is amazingly fun actually, to be given a topic and told "Write for 5 minutes." just lights up my mind like a barn full of hay doused on fire. Ok...so I don't do so well with comparisons, which is bad because my assignment is to come up with a metaphor for writing and me. Goody.
Tonight was the scholarship reception dinner that I had to attend. I was rather disappointed that the givers of my scholarship weren't there so I didn't get to meet them. At some point I'm supposed to write a personal essay for them, I'm not sure when that's supposed to happen or exactly what is to be contained that I didn't include in my thank you card note.
And now, I'm sitting in my room writing on my blog. Rewatching the video that my Comp teacher shared with us. Care to watch? Like you have a choice.
