1. xRocker - A rocking chair, but with speakers! Can play straight from computer, Xbox, or just about anything.
2. Laptop - My Acer Aspire
3. iPod - Gotta have my music..and um...feed my social media addiction while feeding my "lazy" addiction.
4. New phone - AT&T doesn't cover my town (they covered me on the mountain though??)
5. My favorite alarm clock - The original Droid, now mounted to my dorm wall
6. TI something or the other - I have no clue why I brought a graphing calculator...
7. Older phone + Quad band unlocked GSM phone - Plan to hopefully pawn these for some money.
8. Xbox - Hopefully I'll get a chance to play this at some point, if I ever get extended down time during the year.
Promise list of tech stuff out of the way, prepare to read about the hotel we stayed in last night. We arrived and went up to the room and it all looked about the same as last time, we didn't notice any difference at first. Until we went to go swimming, when lo and behold, we discovered the hot tub was, and as I understood, had been out of order for quite some time. Now understand, I know some times things happen, however that was the reason we had chosen this hotel, we wanted a hot tub. Needless to say, we weren't exactly pleased with that. We decided we'd just play in the pool instead, only to find chlorine powder at the bottom of the pool all over. It felt like going to the beach and walking in the sand there.
I didn't waste much time there, I spent a token amount of time in the water (not a huge fan anyway) and then went back to the room to shower. I found that the floor in the bathroom was broken (with loose pieces) in multiple places and the shower drain didn't work properly (sink wouldn't drain to save it's life either). Also, the water pressure was low. And yeah, that is why I won't be staying there again.
Moving on to today, moving in to the dorms. That went fine, moved in with two trips from the vehicles (yay for lots of hands!) and got it packed away with a little extra room to spare. Mental note to self: Bring more flexible containers next time. I share a room with a guy, and we share a shower and toilet with two other guys. The room is about uh... I'd say it's about 16 foot by 24 feet (at the widest points, take out part for half the bathroom) so it's fairly spacey. I definitely like the room, and the bed feels pretty nice (more on that in a couples days).
Early this evening we had a dorm safety talk, and then there was a concert. The concert was very interesting, as he gave out his number and asked for requests. In less than 10 minutes he had nearly 500 song requests he said. Anyway, I gave up on that after he sang "Barbie Girl" (to Brad: I even stuck out listening to "Call Me Maybe", just for you).
And that's about the some of my day...I think I should like, sleep or something. They say that's healthy for you.
