The weekend is almost over and I'm almost glad. The whole campus was practically empty, lots of people were gone, and everything was locked up. Oh, and my favorite game is blocked here because it loads outside resources through Flash instead of through the normal ports. Not cool.
For church today I visited North Side Baptist. I liked it there and most likely will go back, I was invited to another church by another college student who was there though, so I think I'll check out their church as well. The Assembly of God church still interests me too, it seems like they have the most community service type things available which is really important to me.
This afternoon I just walked around town and took pictures of business's hours so I could come back and visit when they were open. I need to pawn off at least 2 phones I have, possibly 3. If anyone knows anyone interested in a cheap Verizon or AT&T Android smart phone, or an unlocked GSM phone let me know and I could hook them up cheap.
My mom bought me some awesome commander strips (that's what they're called, honest) which have been amazing. I figured out by attaching one to my phone charger and one to the wall I can have a wall mounted charger, or a phone mount on the wall. It's great to just be able to walk in and stick my phone to the wall at night, and super easy to find it in the morning then. It's also nice for my "alarm clock" phone (the Verizon one) as I can stick it there or stick it by the charger, and surf Facebook or read YouVersion while laying down without having to hold it. Super nice. And when the phone is stuck there, my iPod can balance on it so it doubles and iPod mount. Now, to mount my laptop to the wall....
I forgot to tell everyone about our pet. I know what you're thinking, "You can't have pets in the dorm!", but we did. A pet spider who lived in our sink...well actually it was more like he'd crawled in to our sink and couldn't get out so he was stuck there against his will and we routinely tried to drown him but failed so we decided to joke and say he was our pet... but having a pet spider sounds cooler doesn't it?
Tomorrow starts real class, with real assignments. I can hardly wait, but at the same dread it. I'm super excited for some classes like my Intro to Computer Graphics, but I'm not so excited about my 5 hour Spanish class as that one seems quite daunting. I imagine I'll be swamped with homework Tuesdays and Thursdays for sure, everyday, and then just busy the rest of the week.
So, here's to another week in the town where random people yell hi to you, people slow down and scream "I love you" at you in traffic, and of course you get to hear lots of colorful language on the second floor. Pieces!
