We reviewed the basic concepts involved in the carbon cycle, spending extra time to identify the sources of carbon. Students copied the diagram roughly into their books, as well as a description of where carbon is found in our environment and in what forms (Petroleum and Methane based fuels). Students hypothesized that Carbon based fuels such as natural gas and petroleum are the results of decomposed organic matter ( dead animals, dinosaurs, etc )
Students were asked to look at their rough copies - original diagram copied from the board, and then re-draw their illustration with the information and parts organized more neatly.
We will be finishing Chapter 2, and having a Chapter Test on Monday.
