We first reviewed question #18 and 19 from last day's assignment, and then moved on to more exciting work.
Students were treated with a trip back to grade 9 - where we revisited the Bracketing method of calculating a root.
Once we had finished our review of the Number Line method of calculating a root, we reviewed the writing of numbers as products of their Prime Factors. This lead to using repeating factors to re-write Radicands as a product of a perfect square and composite number, which we could partially factor.
We worked through a number of examples as well as defined Entire Radicals and Mixed Radicals, and practiced simplifying and expanding both entire and Mixed Radicands. Students left with only 5 questions to complete before next class.
