Math 9's started with a short video presentation - reviewing the concept of matching equations to graphs, and followed this up with a short 1 question (5 mark) quiz.
Next they returned to the class where I introduce the concepts of Interpolation and Extrapolation to them (p. 192 in the text. We worked through a number of examples and then student were set to task to complete their assignment.
Last day's assignment was collected and recorded.
Students were assigned page 196 #4-11 to be completed for tomorrow.
Math 8
We began today's lesson with a review of the Distributive Principle (aka Rainbow Principle) and then used this to step forward into todays lesson on solving an equation in two steps (using the Distributive Principle). See diagram 4 for the steps to solve an equation with Distribution.
Students then worked through a few more examples before they moved on to work on their assignment.
Page 347. #5,6,7, 10 -14 & 17 are due for next class.
