Carnation Chabaud White Striped Red

RM3.00, 30 seeds

Seeds origin: France

Hardy Herbaceous Perennial
Special features: Edible flowers
Height: 18 inches

An old fashioned carnation with striped and picotee flowers. Very popular because of their abundant large double blooms held on strong stems that are great for summer bouquets. Cut them to encourage further shoots to develop and stop the plants getting too woody or leggy.

Sowing instructions:
Sow in a good seed compost, just covering the seed with compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not wet and seal in a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 7-14 days at 15-21C (60-70F).

Growing instructions:
Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm (3in) pots or plant out 30cm (12in) apart.

Aftercare:
Grow in a sunny spot on light well drained soil.
