Update: Microsoft broke my Linux!

This is an update on this post: http://whatwillwrote.blogspot.com/2012/03/microsoft-broke-my-linux.html.

So after uninstall Zune my Ubuntu Wubi install was still broken which was very sad since I'd spent hours and hours customizing and tweaking it. I'd installed 4 different desktops and install significant amounts of software so to be back to zero's kind of upsetting. I'm done with Wubi installs though, it's not worth the fight I decided.

This leaves me with 1) no Linux 2) real install. The first option would just be sad, but at this time the second isn't an option due to my current hard drive partitioning. Here's my plan.

When Windows 8 comes out, should I purchase it, I'll completely wipe my hard drive. This will give me a fresh start and let me set things up the way I want them set up. Here's the partitioning plan:

I'll have three primary partitions: red (100GB), dark blue (200GB), light blue (200GB). Red will be used for extra storage, it will be my play ground for trying other OS'es, maybe experimenting with BSD. Dark blue will store all my files for all my OS'es that way any reinstalls or OS failures will not damage files. The light blue primary partition will be split in to two 100GB logical partitions, one for Windows 8 and one for my preferred Linux distro. 100GB's for my two primary OS'es is enough storage for program files and settings and such but won't eat in to my file storage space.

So, if I purchase Windows 8, that's whats going to happen!
