Lazy, Stupid, and Never Made a Million!

So you're lazy, stupid, and never made a million. Join the club! I believe about half of us in the US fit that bill. Of course, it’s not that simple, so I want to include all the sub-groups that comprise us.

  1. Those of us who worked loyally and put everything into our jobs with one company for a decade or more and then got ‘discontinued’ when the company downsized. Because we had invested so much of our time and energy with one company, our skill set went south as a result of rapid changing technology. We never quite made it back again, and so, here we are, we never made a million despite everything we put into doing the best job we could!

High school employment has reached a 20-year low. 32 percent of high school

students held jobs in 1990. Today, that number has dropped to a whopping 16 percent

  1. Those of us who were sold an ‘education’ and then discovered afterwards that our education which cost us anything from $20,000 upwards couldn’t find us a job in the field we studied for. This was contrary to all the information we were given by our career guidance counselors who assured us that if only we followed our hearts and our passions, the world would come falling at our feet. It didn’t happen, so now we number amongst the 85% who are miserable in our jobs and struggling to get by on $2000 per month.

  2. Those of us who had dirt poor parents, and they weren’t particular bright either. In addition, we had younger siblings and because we were responsible and good human beings, we found a job right after high school and did our best to raise our sisters and brothers. Some of them went on to college and we’re very proud of that because they aren’t lazy and stupid, and they’ve finally reached millionaire status. It’s nice to know, even if we are scorned by the glitterati, that we’re responsible for some of those aren’t lazy, stupid, and who have become millionaires.

Many studies show that welfare recipients find welfare degrading

and demoralizing, and greatly prefer the chance to work.

  1. Those of us who faced extreme abuse and who have been so scarred through it that we were never quite able to pick ourselves up. We did the best we could with what we had, but our deep rooted anxieties and neuroses made us a difficult fit in the work place. It would have been okay if they had just allowed us to do our jobs in peace, but they had to force us to intermingle with others and we weren’t very good at that. So, we’ve remained lazy, stupid, and poor. I guess, in a way, we are responsible for that. It’s just really nuts that we did try therapy but the ones that we were able to afford weren’t really the good ones.

  2. Those of us who are really lazy and stupid. We’ve heard that intelligence is 100% genetic, so it’s a bit rich blaming us for being stupid. Can we help it if we were born with sub-human intelligence, and are those rich brilliant people responsible for the fact that they were born with superb intelligence? It was the luck of the DNA heritage. And it’s not so much that we are lazy, it’s just that when one is this stupid, people don’t make one feel very good so we stay out of the way. It would be nice to be valued by society, though. We’re still human beings.

  3. Those of us who had great jobs and took home a good $100,000 a year. It was good money until our youngest became ill with a life threatening illness. The insurance canceled on us and we lost our house and everything we have. In the end, we lost our kid as well, and our lives have never been the same since. We now number amongst the lazy, stupid, and, of course, we are so far from millionaire status that we might as well be on planet X.

By applying your brainpower to The World of Business you can rise above the common heard. Large profits are made via charging more money than it actually costs to manufacture products or services. Combined with overcharging consumers, employees are paid less than they actually deserve. The whole concept of “PROFITS” depends upon shortchanging both customers and employees. This is how some people become very rich. Fortunes cannot be made fairly. Wealth is created via unfair exchanges where customers are overcharged and employees are underpaid. Clever people are rich.

  1. Those of us who were lied to by our companies. They told us there was a great career path with them. Then they kept putting a carrot in front of us and telling them that if we reached that, they would reward us in this or that way. When we reached there, somehow the carrot became a missing entity and if we said anything, we were told we ought to be grateful for our jobs. I suppose we were grateful for our jobs because there aren’t too many ones around that pay a livable wage. So we just kept slogging away and slogging away. Then the boss asked us to train his son, and the next thing we knew was that his son was doing our job and then we fired. I guess it’s called office politics. So I guess we are stupid that we didn’t notice that.

  2. Those of us who were born with disabilities and grew up in a time when they weren’t recognized. So even though we worked really hard, we just somehow kept missing. We understand now that our disabilities made us stupid and lazy, and we really wish the world were fair. Why is it that some are born with such excellent abilities and about ten percent of us are born with some sort of inadequacy that results in us being ‘lazy, stupid, and poor?’

  1. Those of us who had accidents through no fault of our own. The sons of a rich men, heavy on drink and drugs, drove into us. They totalled our car and our health. The fates - the unfair fates - allowed them to live without a scratch. Fathers paid off the judges and we were left crippled and a $900 per month income. That had to pay for our rent and our food. It really put us in a difficult position. We are now lazy, and we understand that, but if we work, then our medical support will be removed from us because we will earn more than the $900 paid to us.

  1. Well, we’re genuinely lazy and stupid. For the life of us, we can’t figure out why. We just don’t have any energy. Perhaps there’s a medical explanation but we’ve never had the money to find out. We understand that we’re stupid and that’s why we can only really figure out how to do things like kill people. That’s so simple. Just take a gun and shoot. We even know that there’s a direct correlation between lack of intelligence and crime. The difficult part is that we go back to that thingie that intelligence is 100% the result of DNA, and we were obviously caught on the wrong side of the fate lottery.

So those of us who are stupid, lazy, and not millionaires understand that we’re totally responsible for all of this. We wish capitalism would give us a better chance than it has so far, and we also understand that years ago, capitalism seemed to work better. We’re not quite sure why it isn’t working as well as it used to, and if you find out, please let us know. We sure don’t like being lazy, stupid, and not millionaires, and we’d really like to change that.We hope you understand that.
