asema: without distinguishing marks
H. asema is small compact species forming dense clusters, which can reach almost 1 meter in diameter. It has uniformly grey-green shorter leaves without spines or teeths. It has less branching and more succulent root systems than H. monticola, where it was previously placed.
H. asema is known only from few localities around Calitzdorp. It can be very easily propagated by offsetts and in cultivation it grows without any problems.
