It pays to advertise obesity!

So we have lots of government money to have an anti-obesity strategy and an anti obesity advertising campaign. Now who thought that one up?

They are at each other's throats already, because the food lobby is so strong in the UK. The only change that ever worked that the government ever tried was to say that a "low fat" diet will do the trick. That was fine because no one is addicted to fat and there's not a lot to be made in marketing fat, (except dairy fat perhaps , but who ever got fat solely because they binged on butter?)

The absolutely obvious fact that people get fat because they eat grains and sugars to excess will be conveniently ignored by this project. There are just too many vested interests involved. There is a whole healthy eating campaign that says we must eat whole grains and low fat dairy, but then that will keep everyone eating grains and dairy, so that's OK.

Now what would happen if a paleolithic diet was widely recommended with NO grains NO sugar and NO dairy?

What government body would wear that?

But we can try it. Try three weeks of NO sugar NO wheat (eat the other grains instead) and NO dairy and NO potatoes. You will quickly realise that we eat little else, but after a little adjustment you will be eating the healthiest, most varied diet in the world. Its all in my book, FOOD AND YOU. Try it. You have nothing to lose but your cravings (hmmm.......now there's a nice advertising slogan! But there won't be any money for promoting diets that actually work. That would be much too sensible.)
