Frequently asked Questions about Ayurvedic Cleanse:
What is the Ayurvedic Cleanse (AC) and why does it work so well?
The AC helps you break the cycle of eating that might be causing your set of symptoms or to lose weight. It gives the body a rest by eating easily digestible foods. It cleanses the system gently with the mixture of spices. Sometimes I think it is because you just stop eating for a short time what is making you sick.
Where can I get the material to make either Mung Bean Soup or Kitchari for the Ayurvedic Cleanse?
Most Indian or Asian groceries, health food stores or better supermarkets have the material. To get the spices already mixed in a pack you can go to VadikHerbs.com for the Mung Bean Soup spice pack and BanyanBotanicals.com Kitchari Spice mix and also a whole Kitchari Cleanse Kit.
Where can I get the recipe?
Recipe can be had at DrSteveRadio.com and also videos of the preparation of both.
How many days should I do the Ayurvedic Cleanse (AC)?
Usually 4-6 days does the trick. After the 4th day you will see a lot of the craving you have for the unhealthy foods in your life will fall away and only come back if you pick them up.
You can also do this one day a week for a year, half days anyway you want, a few days in a row, you get to decide.
What can I drink during the AC?
You can drink water, preferably hot or warm, or at least room temperature. Lemon water in the morning or herbal teas during the day. If you are addicted to caffeine, then yes, but only one cup of it, and not right when you get up, wait till 10am or later if you can, but not too late after 3pm.
Can you use different beans?
Sure but they are not as digestible, use the smallest bean you can find if you cannot get whole Mung Beans.
Can you use different spice?
This mix of spices make them very digestible, that is the key. I would at least use some of them if you cannot find them all. You can buy the spices in a mix from BanyanBotanicals.com or VadikHerbs.com.
How much do I eat each day?
You eat Mung Bean Soup for each meal, if you get hungry in between meals, then eat more Mung Bean Soup. If you find that you are a big eater, start with a double batch, or twice the recipe.
What if I break the Cleanse in the middle, can I continue?
Of course, just start where you left off, add a day if you want for good measure.
How do I break the Cleanse?
Breaking the Cleanse is just as important or more than the Cleanse itself. You should take as many days to go back to normal healthy meals as you did the Cleanse for. Just keep adding vegetables to the Kitchari and rice and vegetables to the Mung Bean Soup.
You will see by not eating all the bread, dairy, and meat, that your body and mind will feel lighter and sharper. You skin will look better and your symptoms will reduce, like pain and inflammation.
When you start back on your regular diet, pay attention when you start feeling bad again and see what you ate.
