So Breakbot released the cutest song, Baby I'm Yours. Elle me rappelle Baby de Pnau remixé par lui: baby i don't know, just why i love you so

I usually like Siriusmo but I don't really like his remix of this song.
Personally,

is good and so is

but shall we stick to the original today? =)

"listen baby, your wish is my command.
baby won't you understand?

i will help you climb, change your state of mind"
Speaking of breakbot, I'll also share In My Spaceship (Breakbot Remix) by Jan Turkenburg. It does sound quite 'spacey'.
Oh and while you're with me, check this out too:
One of Those Days
LoL. We all have these days. I had one recently. Nothing was going right. But this song makes it so comical. C'mon, boom!

So I'll kinda go off tangent my usual and put up some dubsteppyish songs =)
This is Delivery by Mimosa feat. Souleye. I think I came across this on Hypemachine.

Might Like You Better (Vaski Remix) by Amanda Blank

I might like you better if we slept together.
And yes it's Blank, not Black.

Okay now I'm getting lazy again. So the rest I wanted to get around to is:

"The idiots are winning--watch the fuck out." (listen and download here)

True that.

I love Back Off too.
"back the fuck up man or I'll beat the shit outta you."

Loving the whole don't mess with me vibe.

Lastly, a much less vulgar song, Ain't No Sunshine by Marchmellow & Uncle Sam. Yes, MarCHmellow, not Marshmellow. haha cute.

Ain't no sunshine, when she's gone.
It's not warm when she's away.

and she's always gone too long...wonder this time where she's gone.
Okidokes, time to indulge in lovely Bobmo<3>
Anyways, he released
last month. So I'll just post one of the songs on here, Back from the Grave. I like how it's not PURELY electro.
Three of the songs from here are just remixes of this song he released in 2008, Rock The.
You should also listen to Batcaves (Bobmo Remix) by Kap Babmino if you hadn't the chance.
Man, I swear it just so happens that my favorite musicians tend to be French.

Wow... it's been like 2 hrs since I started writing this entry. It must be ridiculous for people to understand why I waste so much time uploading music. But some ppl may like one or few of the songs I like and I love adding songs to my repertoire so this is not necessarily meaningless.
Well, I'm gonna wrap it up with something a little different.
Two Door Cinema Club, a Northern Irish band formed in 2007 but apparently releasing their debut album on the 1st of March.
Something Good Can Work

and Undercover Martyn

are the two I'll post today.
Let's make this happen, girl
you gonna show the world that something good can work and it can work for you.
And you know that it will.
Let's get this started girl, we're moving up we're moving up
It's been a lot to change but you will always get what you want.

make it work

OMG Tom Snare est retourné!!!!!
Apparently I've missed their single promoted last summer: Other City.
Came across this vid recently:

...I guess I hear the Tom Snarey ish bgm but it's so... pop-y.
Oh phew, I just found out that the bgm IS Tom Snare and the song itself was just...added on, probably to cater to mainstream preference.
Agghh...it's really annoying how I'm quite certain that I've heard the french vocalist part (or something similar to it) in another tune (maybe it was in English too, can't remember! damn) but I can't recall which one!!!!!! Whatever. It's upbeat. I like. Though, agreed with andyfavre's comment, "dommage les paroles en francais..." and TheCmpunk23's, "L'originale est quand même mieux..."
Guess I'll go check out their homepage to see if they're releasing a new album.
Ufufu<3

This is What You Get by Junior Caldera

...You'll start seeing patterns in my male vocalist choice. They tend to hit the high notes. It pumps me up. It builds tension. I like it~.

Lastly, Nasty Little Rumour remix by none other than Fred Falke. Again, guilty for picking remix over the original =(.

And another preference for DJs and songs you'll see is: French. ahaha. Love the language, love the music.
Speaking of, remember K'maro? LOL. It automatically reminds me of high school and Marina for some reason. Probably cause she was one of my tighter friends who spoke French. And ppl made fun of K'maro. Like namae kara shite yeah...
Anyway, I actually still listen to Femme Like U when the mood serves. And recently re-downloaded Histoire de Luv. I'm secretly a sucker for R&B beats... and K'maro's voice.
So he apparently released a couple singles last year. One of em being Elektric:

...I can never tell if it's K-Maro, K.Maro, or K'Maro. Not that into him to bother researching his real name (apologies).
At least I can mindlessly listen to this at the gym?

Anyway, I've been down with this weird cold lately, which is why I've been neglecting my blog. I'm not sure if it's a normal cold since the symptoms seem to persist and some altered. It's been a while since I've actually felt nauseous for no reason (that I'm aware of) so I decided to stay home and rest on the night Shaun performed at Fabric (club). I saw a video of him and ac's performance. Wish I was there...
But okay, turns out I may probably have sinus infection since I seem to have a lot of the symptoms--persisting headache and low temp fever being the two main ones. Feel like puking every now and then too. I'm also getting back/hip pains. And recently started feeling this pressure at the center of my eyes and before I looked up the symptoms I also realized today that my eyes were kinda swollen -__- (as in, I don't think I'm affected by the medical student syndrome).
So thinking I'd recuperate by skipping Shaun's performance turned out to be a mistake. I woulda been sick either way...

Okay so I'm pretty lazy again with uploading music so I'll come back to this entry to post the links for the songs I wanna put up here.
I should stop using my laptop--it shut down twice today from overheating.

I'll post the links to these songs later including the youtube songs:

Faded to Black (R'n'B version) by Hakimakli
Leave It All Behind by September
Back to Stay by Fred Falke
Waiting by Beyonce
Mellow Mood by Slightly Stoopid feat. G. Love
We Won't Stop (Redial Remix) by Barretso
and my favorite out of all: That Lovin Call by Young Enough [you can listen to it here

Okay, I'm also obsessed with this song: If She Knew by Lemar

She says I never listen and I'm not attentive to her emotions
I say she's got tunnel vision, only sees it her way,
so we never can work it out.
She's all ready to give up and move on, I don't think she knows,
how I wish sometimes she could read my mind.

CHORUS
If she knew how bad I wanna make this work,
how my love belongs to her,
she wouldn't be able to walk away.
If she knew how bad I gotta have her close,
if I ever let her go, I wouldn't make it a single day,
she would never have to ask again
if she knew how bad

I've got it
Gotta find a way to tell her how I feel before it is over
I guess I could have done things better
I never should have let things get this far
She's all ready to give up and move on,
I don't think she knows
How I wish sometimes she could read my mind

CHORUS

The thought of losing her because I did something wrong
I guess I should have been there whenever she needed someone
It's a feeling that I know would kill me, cause
she's my heart, my soul, my love
I would never give her up

CHORUS

If she knew how bad
how bad I really love her
how bad, how bad,
if she only knew how,
how bad I really love her
I just can't live without her
If she knew how bad,
if she knew how bad

Starting a Janitor Service: Seven Tips to Help you Get Started

Starting a janitor service is an excellent home business opportunity. It is a relatively low-tech profession with minimal overhead. All you really need to get started is a strong work-ethic and some basic cleaning supplies. However, to get your business off the ground, you will need to employ some smart business strategies. Here are seven tips to help you get started:

1. Do Your Research – Before you begin your janitorial business, you should have a thorough understanding of the services typically offered by janitor services, the tools needed to complete these services, and the going hourly rate. You should also find out how many other janitorial services there are in your area, the services they offer, and the markets they target. Try to determine if there are any markets where the demand is higher than the supply and if you could reasonably enter said markets.

2. Establish Start Up Capital – As you do your research, determine your startup costs. These should include buying supplies and tools for the job, investing in marketing materials and business cards, paying for business licenses and insurance, and hiring employees, if you plan to do so. Remember that you will not usually get paid right away, so you will need enough money to get you through at least the first month of business, possibly longer if it takes a while to establish several clients. Take the time to build up your capital before you start your business so that you have a cushion if things do not go well at the beginning. This may mean delaying the start of your business, or only operating on a part time basis at first while maintaining a full time job.

3. Start Simple – It might be tempting to offer all possible janitorial services right at the start so that you can reach the largest market. Instead, start with the basics – mopping, vacuuming, dusting, emptying garbage cans, cleaning bathrooms – and target a defined group to begin with. Choose tasks that require relatively low-cost supplies and tools that require no additional training to operate. Doing a few things really well will earn you a better reputation right from the start. You can always expand your services once your business has been established.

4. Get Liscensed, Bonded and Insured – It may seem unnecessary at first to shell out the money for a business license and for insurance, but these are critical elements to having a professional business. Not only do you protect yourself from potential liabilities, you also appear more professional to clients.

5. Invest in Quality Products – It will be tempting to buy a cheap vacuum and the cheapest cleaning products you can get your hands on to increase your margin of profit. Instead, research your options and invest in products that will offer the best results. Put some money into a high-quality, industrial vacuum. Buy a few different floor cleaners and mops and figure out which ones work best. Using high quality supplies will not only improve the work you do, it will also make you more efficient, allowing you to do more in less time.

6. Focus on your Reputation – Make your customer service a top priority. Janitorial businesses are built around repeat and long term clients so make sure that you not only do an excellent job cleaning, but that you present yourself and your employees as professional, honest, hard-working, and client-centered. Clients want to hire people they trust to be in their facilities after hours, without having to worry about things getting broken or stolen. Make your business policies client-friendly and try to resolve any disputes with future business in mind.

7. Don’t Rely on Fliers – Or newspaper adds, for that matter. Those are passive methods of advertising – you post something and wait for the clients to come to you. Instead, employ some active marketing strategies. Take note of newly opened businesses in your area and give them a call – better yet, stop by and introduce yourself. You can also offer to clean for free the first time, or offer a discounted rate for signing up for several months at a time. To encourage word of mouth referrals, offer incentives to current clients for every new client referred.

Pain & Hurt..

Let It Be The Last Time..
I Felt So Tired..

The first time i saw her,
she wasn't that obvious to me..
After having contact with her,
i tot this girl was cheerful, cute and loving..
she was like an angel who makes me happy when i was sad..
at a point of time,
i told myself that i want to be with her..
that is why i tried all sorts of ways to tell her i like her..
she told me to wait for her around 3 years,
to let me finsh my NS & her exams,
i promised her,
but in the end,
she just treat me as a fren,
she told me that she told me this is the console me,
she tot i wouldnt wanted to wait for her..

as for now,
she have make herself clear..
i wouldn't want to be the assclown,
to wait for her anymore..
let this be an painful experience for me..

8 years down to road,
i had told 5 girls i liked them,
but only 1 girl willing to be my gf..
but after 3 weeks then break le..
the other 4 all sad the same thing,

"i know u are a good guy, but i can't accept u.. u will find a better girl.. take care.."

i am sick of those words came out from their mouth..
the last girl left a more deeper crack in my heart..
i need time to recover..

Nighthawks

The beautiful painting named Nighthawks by Edward Hopper from 1942.

This piece says so much, doesn't it? Hopper began painting it immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The original currently resides in the Art Institute of Chicago.

The scene depicts a corner in Greenwich Village where Mr. Hopper grew up. The scene accurately shows the mood of the time. The war led to an overall gloominess, which is obvious in the painting.

The streets are empty. Late at night, there are but a trio of patrons at "Phillies Diner" (which did really exist at the corner of Seventh Ave and W 11th Street, but has long since been demolished.)

There is a couple, with "hawk-like" noses, a nice nod to the title. Even though they are together, they are obviously distant from one another. The third patron sits with his back to us, alone. Who knows what demons or inner dialogue he is battling with?

Then there is the "employee." His posture and demeanor clue us in on the fact that he is not the owner of the establishment. His age suggests that he is probably working past retirement, for a boss much younger than he is.

Despite the inherent depression in the piece, there is a quiet solitude. As we race around in this day and age, wireless and mobile, yet still so connected that we rarely have time for a quiet thought, it is easy to envy the placid reverie that Hopper has created. Remember the moments when you could sit in a silent place with nothing but your thoughts? Look how empty the streets are.

As with any great piece of art, their have been homages and replications.

First, here is George Segal's life size sculpture The Diner:

Segal deserves a blog post of his own for his body of work (pun intended). His life size sculptures do a marvelous job of existing beyond their space(s). The Diner has a certain posture to it that winks back in time at Hopper's painting. More than the composition itself, the attitude itself lends itself to homage.

Then there is Roger Brown, whose painting Puerto Rican Wedding (1969) borrows a little bit of Escher with his take on the urban landscape. He delivers a nearly immaculate ratio of black and white while saving a nice portion of the real estate for his somewhat inhuman tip of the hat to the Hawks:

From there, the influence of Hopper's original effort tends to spread. For instance, the Photorealist Ralph Goings seemed to be interested only in painting diners, ketchup bottles, and rounded cafe corners. While he does not specifically claim Hopper's painting as an inspiration, I'm sure you will agree that the influence of Nighthawks is in Going's work, even if it was due to a subconscious force. Here is Tiled Lunch Counter by Mr. Goings, dated 1981.

Of course one cannot write about or discuss Nighthawks without mentioning THAT painting. You know the one. Gottfried Helnwein's Boulevard of Broken Dreams. I'll include a shot of it here for the sake of completion, but you could just as easily go buy one at a Spencer's gift shop in a mall and enjoy the work emblazoned with neon lights.

Don't get me wrong. I get it. Icononclastic emblems of a bygone era placed in the landscape that originally had resonance due to the cultural motif of the era and all that, but I really cringe every time I see this image. James Dean would be rolling over in his grave if he knew his visage was being used to disfigure such a work of art for the sake of selling $500 framed lamps.

Sorry for the rant...back on topic...

Here's an image that should make you smile from my new favorite blog Artinthepicture:

Nighthawks perfectly recreated in Lego.

In conclusion, if you can get your hands on a copy of The Best American Poetry 1991 then you will find in its pages a beautifully written piece of literature by Joyce Carol Oates, titled Edward Hopper's Nighthawks:1942 where she has written internalized monologues for each of the quartet of characters. The piece was originally written for The Yale Review but I would recommend you pick up the copy of the story in The Best American Poetry 1991 for two reasons: (1) There are 74 other wonderful entries in the collection and (2) the cover art is by a man named Edward Hopper:

Destino: 2 Hearts II

I had no idea this existed until my friend Andy S. tipped me to it earlier today.

My two favorite artists are Walt Disney and Salvador Dali. To continue the tradition of two unlikely but perfect artists working together on one project, here is Destino.

This is truly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I don't have the words in my vocabulary to describe it, so here's a brief take from the wiki:

Destino is a short animated cartoon released in 2003 by The Walt Disney Company. Destino is unique in that its production originally began in 1945, 58 years before its eventual completion. The project was a collaboration between American animator Walt Disney and Spanish painter Salvador Dali, and features music written by Mexican songwriter Armando Dominguez.

Special thanks to Andy for the nod, and also to Artinthepicture for posting the Vimeo and allowing me to embed it here.

On a final note, I couldn't embed it from Youtube, but if you click on the YT link, you can watch it full screen, which of course, you should do.
