Elton's throws a party for his Aids foundation




When Elton John throws a party even the busiest celebs manage to put in an appearance. So on Tuesday evening stars from the worlds of fashion and music, including Joss Stone and Sophie Dahl, answered a call to attend a benefit for his Aids foundation.

Devon-born singer Joss cut a charming figure at the New York fundraiser in a fuchsia gown set off by a cascade of blonde ringlets. The 18-year-old is often seen rubbing shoulders with Elton, who first gave her a big break by inviting her to sing at one of his Oscar parties.

The pair duet on a new song Calling It Christmas for a holiday-season charity album to be released by the veteran performer.

Also among the high-profile guests was Karolina Kurkova, who gave a masterclass in combining daring with demure, in a sensual white dress. Meanwhile fellow model Sophie Dahl showed off her slender figure in a clingy jersey dress, teamed with a military-style jacket.

Celebrities at last year's party helped Elton raise $1.2 million for his foundation.
