Money Mindset

In speaking to clients -- and to be honest, even in my own mind -- "money" is a hard topic to discuss. We all know we need it, want it, and desire it -- but most of us don't really feel we deserve it. I truly believe this money mindset can get in the way of success. In order to move our businesses to the next level as entrepreneurs we need to feel deserving of the earnings we create.

If you believe in the law of attraction you know that energy flows out of us at all times. Whatever we are truly believing on the inside (no matter what we are saying on the outside) is expressed to others and to the universe. Sometimes we've been hardwired with negative thoughts about money:

  • Money doesn’t grow on trees.

  • Money is filthy and dirty.

  • Money is evil.

  • I am poor but clean (or good).

  • Money is in short supply.

Positive money beliefs are much more empowering than negative ones. The sad thing is that when most of us think about money, we do not have positive thoughts about it. As much as we would like to be some enlightened beings who have transcended above all material attachments, we must deal with the practical aspects of existence in the real world.

What is money? Money is a form of energy exchange. It stores value by our applied meanings. It is a measure of confidence – of how much you believe that having it can be used for your future purposes, of the value that you place on your own goods and services and of how much others are willing to do an exchange with you for. It can therefore be said to be a measure of your positive thoughts on your worth.

The more confidence you have about yourself and self-worth, the more money you are likely to make and attract. For the same hour of work, person A makes $10 but person B can make ten times more because the latter is more confident, happy and easily attracts customers. Since anything is possible, there really is no limit to how much you can earn.

I recently went to an motivational event that was put on Fabienne Frederickson and was really inspired by her words of encouragement about money. Fabienne's message is that we are all created with a special ability or talent. That talent is desired and needed by others. If we don't share our talents with those that need it we are in essence being selfish. Fabienne says that  it is our duty to share our talents and skills and that the beautiful thing is that with the money we acquire by doing so we are able to help more people in a bigger way. I love this thinking and honestly am working on my own money mindset by focusing on this concept.

I challenge you to examine your own money mindset and discover the money message that you may be sending out into the universe.
