Nokia N8 vs HTC Evo 4G

The Nokia N8 and HTC Evo 4G are high-end phones that have the best features but with an appropriately higher price tag. The main difference between the N8 and Evo 4G is their network. While the N8 is compatible with GSM networks, the Evo 4G is a CDMA phone. The N8 has the edge here as GSM is the standard use in most areas of the world. CDMA coverage is pretty limited, so don’t expect to go roaming outside of North America. Coverage aside, WiMax should be able to provide faster internet speeds.
In terms of form, the Evo 4G is significantly bigger than the N8 in all dimensions. You can also feel the added weight because the Evo 4G is roughly 25% heavier than the N8. The added size of the Evo 4G is soon forgotten once you see its huge 4.3 inch display, which would dwarf the 3.5 inch display of the N8. A bigger screen, especially when complemented by a higher resolution, makes it easier to read text and browse web pages. Viewing videos on the Evo 4G is also one of the best in a mobile phone and it even has a kickstand so that you can easily prop it on your desk.
The biggest draw for the N8 is the camera. Its 12 megapixel snapper, Carl-Zeiss lens, and Xenon flash makes it easy to take great pictures even in less than ideal situations. The Evo 4G camera is a bit below to that of the N8 at only 8 megapixels, but it is still better than most of the competition. The LED flash may not be as good as the Xenon on the N8 but having two of them compensates a little. Video-wise, the two are more or less on even ground as both are capable of 720p video.
The Evo 4G packs a much bigger battery at 1500mAh than the N8’s 1200mAh. Despite this the N8 still manages to outlast the evoG with calls and even more so with standby time.
While N8 can manage over 300 hours on standby, the Evo 4G can only manage half that. Power problems may become more serious as the device ages and the battery starts deteriorating.
SUMMARY:
The N8 is a GSM phone whiles the Evo 4G is a CDMA phone. The Evo 4G is bigger and heavier then the N8. The Evo 4G had a bigger screen than the N8. The N8 has a better camera than the Evo 4G. The Evo 4G is more power hungry than the N8
