Butler, Moses, Paul, North Carolina, and San Antonio

The Final Four proves yet again that anything can happen. Where is Butler located? Who is VCU's mascot? Unless you are a big fan of those programs you probably have no idea, and yet they will be playing with the entire nation watching, while schools like UNC and Duke are sitting on their respected couches. That's why I love the NCAA Tourney because anything can happen. It's a tourney for the underdog to upset, inspire, and prove that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Moses. A former prince turned murderer on the run. The man went from living like a king to working in a desert-like area herding sheep. Yet, when all is said and done…he is redeemed as being one of Israel's greatest heros. He stood up to Pharaoh and said the famous line "LET MY PEOPLE GO!". Talk about the idea that anything can happen!

Paul. He went from persecuting Christians to being one of the great missionaries of all time. At one point, Christians would run in panic and horror if they heard that he was coming to their town. Those same Christians later ran to him in anticipation that God was going to do something through him for their family and community. He even had a name change (from Saul to Paul!) to mark the experience! His salvation experience is called, "the great conversion"! Another example of the idea that anything can happen!

Then you have this small town country boy in NC that grew up with divorced parents, fishing at his grandaddy's pond, riding tractors, and a pain in the side of his youth pastor. He sat in the principals office every other day in middle school for being the class clown and taking it too far. As a teen at the Christian summer camps he attended, he would be in the center of everything crazy. But then things crazy happened. He became the Bible toting witness in high school, a youth leader at youth group, and a children's/youth ministry volunteer. He went to Oklahoma to take on an evangelism internship. He transferred from his dream college to attend a theological school, found a wife and took a job as the youth pastor in a church in Florida! Years later he was called to a San Antonio youth group, and became a dad to a beacon-of-hope kid with a terminal illness (which his son will be healed of!). Last August, God called him into Children's Ministry full time at River City Community Church in San Antonio.

If you haven't guessed it, that last guy is me. I'm living proof that anything can happen! If you take chances in life and seek God first in every decision, anything can happen in your life as well. Will you do it? Will you have an "anything can happen moment"? Will you allow another one if you have already done it before. I believe in you. In fact, I know that you can have that moment and more like them starting now. How? Give God the driver's seat and let him take it over fully and completely. Let your kids see it as well!
