Summer of Mayhem

This post is dedicated to the insanely good adrenaline-charged movies that are scheduled to be out this summer. Though nothing can ever compare to last summer (For the uninitiated, July 18th 2008 was when the greatest movie of all time came out…if you don’t know what that is, I guess you were living under a rock last year and shouldn’t be reading this post!!), this summer seems to hold a lot of promise!

Let the festivities begin:

1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Scheduled Release Date: May 1st

Good looking trailer…the movie delves into the origins of Logan/Wolverive…his violent past and the real deal between Sabertooth and him. Scheduled to be released worldwide on May 1st….hasn’t been released in Bangalore yet!!

2. Angel & Demons

Scheduled Release Date: May 15th …glorious day for more reasons that one ;)

Prequel to The Da Vinci Code…Tom Hanks reprises his role as Robert Langdon…this Ron Howard movie has been shrouded with controversy since it was announced….and as they say...there is no such thing as 'bad publicity'…hopefully it’ll be released as scheduled in Bangalore!

3. Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins

Scheduled Release Date: May 21th

My favourite actor Christian Bale as John Connor…Taking on some badass looking terminators in the near future…couldn’t get much better than this!

4. Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

Scheduled Release Date: June 24th

Did I say it couldn’t get much better than T4….well I guess I was wrong…TF2 looks as cool as they come! A gamut of new transformers and Megan Fox on a Harley Davidson showing off her ass-ets in all their divine glory….What more can anyone ask for??

5. G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra

Scheduled Release Date: August 7th

Perhaps the most anticipated movie of the summer (as far as I’m concerned at least!) Trailer looks great with loads of action and CGI! Can’t wait for this one!

Apart from these movies, there are others like I Love You Man, Ice Age 3, Public Enemies, Bruno and Inglorious Basterds which look really good and are sure to give the above mentioned movies a run for their money…quite literally!

P.S.: Which movie do you guys think will be the #1 summer blockbuster of 2009?
