ORIGINS GINZING EYE CREAM

GinZing is one of the most talked about eye creams in the market at the moment. Here's my thoughts on it...

Description

This is quite a light textured cream for all skin-types and ages. The main problem it addresses is dark circles and puffiness. It contains caffeine, ginseng and magnolia extracts as well as some brighteners that instantly make the eyes look rested. The cream is more or less unscented.

Pros

  • It gives the area around the eyes some hydration, without leaving an oily residue.

  • It is for that reason ideal to use before you apply your makeup.

  • Its salmon colour and the light reflecting particles it contains, give the eyes a quick fix. Ideal for the days you don't wear any makeup, because it has some concealing effect.

  • Good value. £21 for 15ml.

Cons

  • Because of its light consistency I felt that I was using more eye cream than usual and still, some days, even that wasn't enough. So even though it is advertised as suitable for all skin types, I wouldn't recommend it for dry and combination skins. Or ageing.

  • Even though GinZing does keep your eye area nice and conditioned, it doesn't really feel like a treatment. A quick fix rather, but not the eye cream in which you invest.

  • I also noticed that sometimes the pearl would make my eyes look greasy (even though the actual cream isn't oily at all).

My feelings

To be honest, I didn't see much results. This is an average eye cream that gives a bit of hydration, some de-puffing caffeine (but so do many of the more affordable brands) and some instant brightening effect. Personally I would rather go for an eye cream that actually improves my under-eye area, rather than just have some temporary fix that conceals the problems. An ok all-rounder but I don't see what all the hype is about.
