Invisible Dangers in Your Home

Picture this. Let’s say your front door has broken down and will no longer close. So it’s always open. How vulnerable would this make you, your family and your possessions? Truly, who knows what would come inside? For starters, you could welcome the neighbor’s cat, a bird or two or some buzzing, stinging creatures. Worse, you could wake up to bad guys carting off your stuff or come home to a trespasser taking a nap on your couch!

Obviously, the front door is one of your protections for keeping bad things out and good things in. But what if you had an opening into your home that you didn’t even know about – and what if the dangers that were coming in couldn’t be seen, smelled or tasted?

That’s the problem with an odorless, colorless and potentially dangerous gas like Radon. You don’t realize it’s there, but it may be causing problems for your family’s health and well-being.  The symptoms of Radon (unlike Carbon Monoxide) are not known immediately since the ill effects can take place over a period of years.   According to the EPA, high levels of Radon can be found in one out of every 16 homes in the United States and is the second leading cause of lung cancer .

We’ve got a video that gives a good explanation for how this happens and what you can do about it.  Won’t you please take a look?
