The National Obesity Forum

I went to a meeting. They discussed, tentatively, the possibility that they may one day give support on the NHS to "emotional eaters" who end up with a BMI of 40+. This is Julia Buckroyd's amazing achievement: It's taken years of painstaking research but she has created a package that the powers-that-be may listen to, and that does (tentatively) suggest that addiction may be at work.  " But of course we cant give up food like we may give up smoking".

No one is prepared to believe that food addiction is not an addiction to eating per se or food per se, but specific food ingredients.

Once they get that, and its  simple enough idea,  then we are off!

All they have to do it give up - ABSOLUTELY- the ingredients that trigger the binges.

-sigh-

and of course the updates on the new "surgically thin" who had bariatric surgery a few years ago, show that they begin to cross addict to chocolate, sugar sweet drinks, shopping gambling..........

OF COURSE!!

-sigh!-
